John Ralph Nipe

 Nipe, John R., passed away peacefully on March 11, 2012. John is survived by his sons, Larry and Stephen; daughter-in-law, Barbara; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren, with one more on the way. John was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Lois. John was born in Hallandale, FL in 1922, attended Dania High School and graduated from Bridgewater College in Virginia. 

John served in the Army during World War II, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. A resident of the Greater Hollywood area after his return from Europe in 1947, John was a community leader, entrepreneur, business owner and man of great faith. John and Lois joined the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood in 1947 where John served as treasurer and Elder for 50 years. In 1952, he started Coastal Office Products in downtown Hollywood, FL, and managed the successful business for 40 years. 

John was a past president of the Hollywood Rotary Club, served as Chairman of the Committee 100, among many other civic groups. John was lucky in love a second time in 2004 when he married lifelong friend, Mabel McMillian. John was truly a member of the Greatest Generation and will be missed by many. 

A private memorial service celebrating John's life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the continuing work of God through the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood Memorial Fund 1530 Hollywood Blvd. Hollywood, FL 33020.
